RAILWAY STATION : From Delhi one can easily reach Amritsar. There is frequent train service available from Delhi Railway Station. Shatabadi is the fastest one that travels from Delhi to Amritsar with minimum stops.

BUSES: From Delhi one can get busses of Delhi State Transport Corporation. There are so many Private Buses starting from many parts of the Delhi. We will recommend private coaches as they have lot more facilities than government owned buses. If you are coming from Chandigarh region, you can get private coaches such as "Guardian, Libra or Indo-Canadian" which reaches Amritsar in 4 hours road travel with approx. Rs 200/ticket.

MAIN ATTRACTIONS OF AMRITSAR

THE GOLDEN TEMPLE ( HARIMANDIR SAHIB) being the main hub of attraction for the whole world since centuries. Although there are a number of Sikh shrines / Gurudwaras in and around Amritsar, Golden Temple is the biggest of all tourist attractions in Amritsar. The shrine houses the holy script of the Guru Granth Sahib and draws its name from the gold-laden dome upon a marble base. Each element in the premises is full of spirutual waves.

JALLIAN WALA BAGH In 1919, the British Police fired randomly on a peaceful assembly of people gathered in demand of freedom, which killed hundreds of men, women and children on the spot. The bullet marks on the boundary walls bring alive the agonizing tale of cruelty of colonial rule.

WAGAH BORDER Another prominent tourist attraction in Amritsar is not a monument but a daily event. A little away from Amritsar at the India shares international frontier with Pakistan. Every evening, the change of guard among either national security forces, a handshaking distance apart, is a fantastic spectacle.

TARN TARAN 22 km south of Amritsar, Taran Taran, built in honor of Guru Ram Das is another important Sikh shrine. The architecture is largely inspired by the Golden temple. Popular belief is that the holy lake inside can heal leprosy.

KHADOOR SAHIB Khadoor Sahib is in District Amritsar in state of Punjab in India. It is a sacred place in the Sikh history and religion. Eight Sikh Gurus visited Khaddor Sahib. It is connected with the name of second Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Angad Dev Ji. The Guru Angad Dev Ji spent 13 years of his Guruship at Khadoor Sahib, spreading the universal message of first Guru, Nanak Dev Ji. There are many other firsts of Sikh religion attached with this place, Gurmukhi Lipi was introduced for the first time as medium of language after careful modification by Guru Angad Sahib; first Gurmukhi Primer was prepared by the Guru; first school was established by Guru Angad Sahib Ji; first Gutka of Guru Nanak Sahib’s Bani was prepared; first Mal Akhara for wrestling was established; and first regular campaign against intoxicants and social evils was started by Guru Angad Sahib.

GOBIND GARH FORT The fort occupied a unique place in the Indian military history. Built in 1760, it was called Bhangian Da Kila (Bhangis was one of the twelve Sikh misles). According to historians, during 1808, the fort was known as the fort of Gujjar Singh Bhangi. Later it was re-built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh with the help of Jodh Singh. The legendary Maharaja strengthened the fortification of the fort in order to keep his treasures and treaties in safety. The specially constructed Toshakhana, in the centre of the fort, also stored large amount of grains and provisions for the 12,000-strong army.

The fort was constructed with brick and lime with numerous army bastions and iron gates with 25 cannons on the ramparts, now replaced with modern weaponry.

The fort was constructed on a square pattern with a parameter of 1500 sq mt with two strong gates, four large bastions and well-defined rampart.
